Nonverbal communication

People used to display their characters, cultural peculiarities, upbringing, habits and passions through the words, but the real feelings and emotions are shown through other means of communication. They are intonation, gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, body movements, tones, voice, expressive movements and many other signs.

Some signs are used all over the world. For example, if the borders are open and you have an opportunity to move to any country you wish, there is a big chance that many other people mix their traditions and national habits. Like the languages were mixed during the Babylon Tower building, so, the personal, traditional signs become international, interfere into another society and become their important part. However, some nonverbal means of communication still remain native and do not cross the borders.

Many signs have different meanings which vary from country to country. If in some country shaking hands means hospitality and friendly note of the relationships, in other countries it could be impolite and even rude to shake woman's hand, for example. Many people, many traditions. If the signs help you to break the borders and adapt in the new culture faster, is a big advantage.

If you can "read" people though signs, you nearly can manipulate people. Perhaps, it is even better sometimes if your interlocutor does not aware with the language of gestures and intonations. It allows a person hide inner emotions. Anyway, many people pay too much attention to this discipline to judge though nonverbal signs. Who knows what our gestures or body movements come from? Perhaps, pulling the button of your company is just your bad habit or you cross your hands on your chest, because you just feel cold.

Anyway, we stay human creatures and we used to communicate though nonverbal means to express something or, vise versa, hide your true feelings and intentions. Though, people do not even imagine that they could deny their words with the single shaking of their head. And even if you are nodding, but the whole nature of yours is against some decision, you turn your head to the right and lean it a little. A person used to do that when he is thinking of something important or doubting about something.

Nevertheless, it is not worthy disregarding the alternative ways of communication. We live in the world of the signs for a long time. An amount of information is bigger and bigger. We have to turn it into the signs in order to catch more and orientate in the world quicker and more effectively.
