Body language

In our everyday life, business, working we express only ten percents of information through the words. A bigger amount of information is embodied in the signs. It means that content is different to context sometimes. It is important to identify both and express them in a right way (if you are really interested in it, of course).

Actually, it is possible to define some elements of body language. Some of them are changeable; some of them are given by nature. The first group includes those components you can do nothing about. They are your age, gender, voice, race or ethnicity and so on. The second group includes those ones which could be changed if you wish to do it. They are hair, weight, body, nails, tanning and others. And the last group includes those components which could be chosen and changed very easily. For example, they are your eyes contact with the interlocutors, posture, gestures, voice modulations and so on and so forth. In order to control your body and become a successful speaker (or at least a person who provides secure and confident impression), you should start with the second and continue with the third group's components.

In other words, you can start working out your own style that is displayed in your clothes, accessories, voice, gestures, knowing the rules of etiquette and other stuff. If you are not able to change your age or gender, you can present yourself as a well-educated and intelligent person who is worthy trust and attention. At least, some orators made mystical things. They corrected their speaking defects by regular training. As you see, if they could change their natural qualities, you can change the habits of yours.
