Nonverbal interviewing

Nonverbal messages are sent from the very first minute when you come in and see the office and the stuff. Here you are the only person whom they do not know at all. So, it is logical that until you tell the word you will be valued by your appearance, posture, face expression, gestures and behavior.
While you are waiting, take your seat and wait calmly. Try not to display your impatience or anxiety by drumming your fingers or tensed sight. If somebody looks at you, smile. At least you would be interested in the new candidate as well. Actually they recommend avoid listening to music, reading your text messages, chewing gum, smoking or candy eating when you are waiting. When you are invited to the room to interview, make sure that you shake hands. It is an opportunity to display your friendly and open nature. At the same time it is correct due to etiquette and it helps you to break the personal space of the interviewer. When you sit opposite a human resources manager, make yourself comfortable, but do not lean back. Do not present yourself who feels relaxed right now. Pretend to be interested and involved into communication. When you feel that you are an older worker of this company, you will allow more relaxed position on your chair. Until now you have to display your interest. Keep eyes contact, do not interrupt. Allow your hands stay calm on the table. It is better escape too emotional gestures. If you do not know what to do with your hands, take your pen and pretend that you make notes from time to time. As for intonations and tones, do not be too loud or too quiet. Of course, if you are not at the plant where noise is incredible.
